Countdown to August 1st and the LUXE Paris Look of the Year 2015

Back in late June, I was passed a notecard detailing the LUXE Paris Look of the Year contest. The initial phase was to submit a photo of yourself wearing LUXE Paris clothing. From the submitted pictures, 10 finalists would be chosen, and announced on July 1st via ManieraSL. Each finalist would receive 10 outfits of their choice from LUXE Paris. The Winner of the LUXE Paris “Look of the Year 2015” will be announced on August 1st.

I chose LUXE Paris Punk Dress in Abstract. My goal was to show off the clothing, so, I kept the background plain and the styling elegant but not over the top. However, I did want some “touch of Paris”, and I remembered seeing an Eiffel Tower lamp at a shopping event some time back. I scoured the MP until I found it, then set up for the picture. Here is my entry:

July 1st rolls around and I was lucky enough to be chosen a finalist and published in “Down to Just 10” by Maniera. YAY!

The next phase of the Look of the Year contest was a brunch, shopping trip at LUXE Paris, and a short photo shoot on July 11th. An additional surprise for all of the finalists was to be in the LUXE Paris “Look of the Year 2015” feature in the Miss SL Magazine, JULY 2015. Each Finalist filled out a short questionnaire and our responses were published with our photo entries. Thank you Miss SL Organization!

July 11th arrived and the landmark to the brunch took us to the beautiful formal gardens the Mika and Parisian have created. We were greeted on arrival by Tommy Allen and directed to follow the path. The path led around to seating both for the finalists and industry guests from Maniera and the Miss SL Organization. Everyone looked lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Mika and Parisian spoke briefly, then introduced all the finalists and where their country of origin. After that it was time for shopping! The Finalists all went down to the store and began browsing to choose their 10 outfits. Once your selections were complete, Mika was ready for the photo shoots at their studio upstairs. Here is the photo Mika took:

And here is the article covering the bunch by Sammie Audion of Maniera Magazine, “Brunch with the Fashion Bunch”. The finalists were all dressed to impress, the brunch was relaxed and very low key, and very enjoyable. It was quite a lovely afternoon. Thank you to all the Finalists, Maniera Magazine, Miss SL Organization and especially Mika and Parisian, aka LUXE Paris for such a wonderful experience. *hugs to everyone*
